You can send an SMS to a group of people with the Send SMS Dashboard Widget and the SMS Mac Address Book Plug-in. The SMS Mac Scripting Application will also support Group SMS.

With Group SMS you can send the same text message to several mobiles with one click. For example, you can invite all your friends to your birthday party at once.

The groups first have to be defined in Contacts (previously called the Address Book).

Note : on Mavericks (OS X 10.9) and Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8), you can only send a Group SMS using the Send SMS Dashboard widget.
