Character Count
Some characters in the GSM 7-bit alphabet actually count as two characters. These characters are: {}[]~|\ and the Euro character (€). A message containing only the characters from the GSM 7-bit alphabet can contain 160 characters.
Secondly, a message that contains Unicode can only contain 70 characters.
